TEXAS MUSIC SCHOLARS

​In order for students to be nominated for this honor by the director, you must meet the following requirements:
  1. Orchestra student must exhibite outstanding qualities in scholastic merit, musicianship, and citizenship in school, community and orchestra program during the school year.
  2. Orchestra student is a viable member of the school’s parent musical organization for the entire school year.
  3. Maintains in all cumulative coursework an overall “A” average as defined by the local school district for the current school year.
  4. Maintains academic eligibility for the entire school year.
  5. Participates in all scheduled events of the parent organization.
  6. Participates virtually or as a live audience member, two director-approved concert events of high school, collegiate or professional level during a school year.
  7. Has auditioned, been selected, and participated as required in a TMEA or ATSSB organization (band, orchestra, or choir).
  8. Performs a UIL Prescribed Music List Class 1 solo for a competition or public performance.
  9. Consistently exhibits behavior which brings honor to the parent organization, school and community.
