Lettering Policy

​In order for students to receive a letter jacket, you must meet the following requirements, and submit a Letter Jacket Approval Form to the director.
  1. Orchestra student must be a member in good standing (good attendance, admirable work ethic, great attitude)
  2. Orchestra student must participate in all required orchestra activities designated by the director (sectionals, rehearsals, concerts, clinics, contests) unless the student is excused in advance.
  3. A student must have two years of academically eligible participation in:
  • UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest
  • UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest

Students who are selected to and perform in the All-Region Orchestra OR earn a Class I medal on a solo at UIL State Solo and Ensemble would only be required to have one year of participation in the events listed above.

Students who are selected to participate in the All-State Orchestra in the TMEA audition process will immediately earn a letter and become eligible to purchase a letter jacket.
